  • Assignment One:
    • Choose any two of the women scientists in the book and compare/contrast their life story.
    • Consider time period, cultural and social forces, education, specific speciality. Discuss issues that helped or hindered their progress.
    • Make a personal reflection about women in science.
    • This commentary should be about 3 paragraphs in length.
    • Please email your comments in the text of an email message to Mrs. Nuño at jdenuno@mhs-la.org. Note, comments will be written during class in the computer lab on Thursday, Sept 7th (Period 2) or Friday, Sept 8th (Period 5)
    • Put your LAST NAME and the NAME OF THE WOMEN SCIENTISTS in the Subject Field. Also put your full name and the names of the women scientists in the message text. Include the date.
    • These commentaries will be stored in a Women in Science Folder in the First Class Chemistry Conference and showcased on the Chemistry Class Web at http://members.xoom.com/jdenuno/Women.htm. This page also has useful links. These links will be used in Assignment 2.
